Takeshi Koike's Redline is a spectacle for the eyes and an exhilarating experience. The action is complex and well animated while the OST drags you into it by making your blood rush because of how the director adapts music into his works. It is not something you can take your eyes off, and it gets me pumped up like no other action movie. The director is known for his bold animation style, and the movie has the best animation of its decade given it was in development for seven years; it's a marvelous technical showcase. My heart aches it did badly at the box office(although it's mostly the team's fault and merit for going way over the deadline).

The only negative reviews I read focus about one thing, the writing, to which I say: they are wrong. Redline may not have the best story, but it's not badly written at all. The numerous characters and the various storylines are just story-building side elements that make the Redline race so colourful. To analyze them in a vacuum is a mistake, but even if you do, you'll find out the subplots can be really interesting if you give them a thought.

One criticism I can understand is about the overwhelming amount of stuff happening which can be distracting and, according to my friends when I proposed it to them, a tripping psychedelic experience, which made it a real fun watch and hit coach movie.

If you're debating whether or not to be discouraged by the few negative reviews, do yourself a favour and watch it; in the minuscule case you don't like, you still won't regret watching it, as it's an experience you don't want to miss.
