6.25/10 ~ More Lodoss that isnt Louie As several people have mentioned, as much as this is technically a standalone piece I would recommend watching this after watching the Lodoss TV Show: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight, as this ties into what happens to Sir Ashrem the Black Knight and Pirotess after they left Lodoss to find a new land. And or reading the Novels all of this is based off of, Unfortunately just watching the original OVA Series wont due this much justice at all. Pros: -High Fantasy 80/90's goodness --swords and sorcery -more Lodoss that isnt Louie and all of his fan service -a straight forward story thatis easy to follow

-THE DEMON SWORD ACTUALLY HAS PURPOSE, this went so hard

Cons:
-kinda jank animation despite being from the golden age
-bad English dub (if you can even find it)
-bit too many names and problems for charecters and events that do not matter
-Jarring Animation and style change from Lodoss OVA/TV Series, and Louie
--Character name changes

-ending.... uh what now lol

I do not think this movie really stood the test of time and at this point is for anyone that made it through Lodoss and NEEDS more. This is one of those series that really needs a re-master/re-make and really needs to be expanded on. If I stumbled upon this movie and watched it with no context to Lodoss and had to rate this very objectively, I would probably rate this as a solid 4/10. However the 6.25 rating was from my personal enjoyment and general love for the world of Lodoss.
