Review of Higurashi: When They Cry – Kai

Good show, not at all a good sequel to Higurashi. The first season is a masterful psychological horror that constantly keeps you guessing and is legitimately scary at times. I gave it a 10 and still stand by that. This season completely ditches the entire horror aspect, which is very disappointing. It's a good sort of drama/thriller, but completely loses the stellar direction the first season built up. I would watch it because it is good and the first season leaves things unanswered but this really feels like a big disservice to what could have been a fully fleshed out top notch psychological horror. Badsequel, good show.
