Review of School Days

(Uh, spoiler/mature content warning, I guess?) It's quite literally as bad as you've heard, if not worse. And every second is amazing. Quite honestly, I enjoyed the heck out of watching this. I've been a diehard anime fan for years and I've long known that I should dip my toes into some of the darker recesses this medium has to offer. School Days was something I knew about, something friends had watched, something YouTubers I watch had discussed, and finally, I just had to see it for myself. There is NOTHING redeeming about this show in terms of the content itself. Every character is a garbage human being.The art is stale, bleak, and repetitive. Sound design is forgettable at best and doesn't have any idea of what the term "tonal consistency" means. The story can be boiled down to "guy can't keep it in his pants and will sleep with any girl (and every girl) that's willing to give him two nanoseconds of her time and virginity." It's bad. It's really, really bad.

Therefore, I cannot recommend this show enough. I've always believed it's important to experience the bad things to more deeply appreciate the good ones. There are other trash shows out there. There are other bland shows out there. But none really compare to School Days. It's a fantastic show for grabbing a couple of cold ones, laying back with some pals, and just watching the storm rage on.

Please watch this show. It'll be one of the worst things you ever do.
