Amon: Apocalypse of Devilman · review
I watched this at 4 a.m. after bingeing some Tokyo University student projects. This was the most I'd laughed in years. The violence is so senseless and absurd that-in my delirium-I was hysterical. It's the most I've enjoyed anything in months. 10/10 greatest comedy on the planet. I went to bed an hour after finishing this. As I tucked myself in, I was still chuckling to myself. Not to mention, it is the best adaptation of the end of Go Nagai's Devilman. If you're into barely noticeable homoerotic tension, violence so intense that it becomes comedic, gorgeous animation, and decent sound design, this willbe intensely enjoyable. I'd recommend watching this when you are the least mentally stable as to increase your enjoyment exponentially. If you're old enough to drink, go for it.
This masterpiece deserves more love.
