This special wasn't nearly as good as the original TV series, but it was decent. The art was as pretty as ever, the music was very soothing and felt Japanese, the voice acting was plenty moe, and the whole thing was rather enjoyable. My only complaint is that the whole thing felt more "ecchi" than the series. I'm not saying there was a great amount of fanservice and whatnot, but you did get your occasional gag here and there throughout the episodes. Depending on who you are and what prefrences you have, the gags may have added or taken away enjoyment from the episodes. Thatbeing said, I personally give Air in Summer an overall score of 7.
