7 /10

A very funny humouristic and patriotic manga The story takes place in 1863, we are introduced to the Shinsengumi and its four members, a group of samurai of Tokugawa's shogunate era that was responsible of the security of Kyoto and the country back then. Our 4 protagonists are then having a time travel and arrive at our time and are appalled and horrified of what Japan has become. Follows up 4 literal cavemen doing the most outrageous things right in the middle of Tokyo Story 7/10 A pretty good story, the Shinsengumi will be either chased by the government or either trying to restablish a non-degenerate Japan withno Americanized culture, the manga also shows us how japanese people have become weak throughout time and lost their values. There is also a lot of bad talk against america and promotion of nationalistic japanese ideas (and it's hilarious)

art 8/10
I really like the fact that he drew typical and stereotypical faces of japanese people from 200 years ago, not the kind of faces you would see in a kpop boys band or in an anime, but rather the kind of faces you would end up having a battle with in a bar in the middle of Osaka while being drunk, hard men sputtering, yelling and threatening everyone like barbarians or cavemen, the general art is pretty good.

Characters 8/10
The characters all have their own kind of personality, there is the big dumb guy only thinking about pleasures and getting angry easily, the leader one having all the ideas and setting up everything, the smart one, etc, they are all funny and interesting in some way. But whant stands out the most from them is obviously their vivid samurai mindset, which is hilarious to see.

Enjoyment 7/10
the first volumes are excellent, but I must confess that around the 4th volume I started to yawn a bit, not because of the story itself but because this is the kind of story that has to be finished quickly, but there are only 2 volumes left when it comes to me, so that was alright.

Overall:
I recommand this manga to you if you want to have a good laugh some day, the settling is very interesting and it is cool to see how samurais from back then would actually react in our era. Also if you like Japan for its culture and history or that you are kinda dislike to Japan's more obscene side like, hentais, animes, toys etc. then this manga might be for you.
