Wealth and Wonder · review

Edgy, extremely flashy, and unnecessarily over the top. As the synopsis explains, the wealthy MC pours most of his inherited fortune into in-game currency, then quickly starts leveling to gain an advantage before the apocalypse begins. He spends 500 million (almost $80 million) just to obtain the most powerful class. The game itself makes Diablo “Immoral” at launch look restrained. Still, considering shrinking attention spans and how some players already spend absurd amounts for a small dopamine boost and to skip grinding in badly designed P2W games, it doesn’t feel completely unrealistic. Although the anime moves fast and delivers impressive(ly exaggerated) visuals, it lacks substance, coherence, anda meaningful story. The over-the-top style was amusing at first but became repetitive by episode four. The next two episodes didn’t add anything new, so I dropped it.

Recommended for young teens or viewers who just want to switch off their brain and enjoy flashy visuals.
