My Fair Neighbor · review
This is only my opinion but I hope it can be useful in some way. “My fair neighbour” is about… two neighbours. Wah! Was not expecting that! Anyway, it’s a very short story, but even so it didn’t feel ‘packed’ or rushed. Through the five chapters the feelings of the characters were portrayed properly. Momo is a lovely girl and a likeable main character. As to Yuki, his apparent lack of emotion is actually very endearing, and from the way I see it, the story is more about him and his life, hurdles and struggles, than Momo’s. Not for a moment did I find their age gapcreepy, in any way. The two of them, with their contrasting personalities create a nice balance between youthfulness and maturity. They’re both very relatable.
As for the art, it’s simple and clean and Momo’s expressions – she has many! – were very well done.
It’s a love story, a very pleasant one at that. It doesn’t take long to read this manga so if you have the time and just want to read a heart-warming love story, this might do the trick!
