The most accurate historical fiction I've ever read! At times it even feels like a documentary, it's so precise without romanticizing events or characters. The major events; alliances, betrayals, battles, power shifts are closely follow what we know about the Sengoku period and Oda Nobunaga. The manga doesn't try to "beautify" brutal decisions. Nobunaga doesn't become an idealized hero and remains pragmatic, cold, and strategic because Nobunaga needs to "conquer the world". The fact that the protagonist is a modern student who takes Nobunaga's place is a brilliant idea. Explaining historical context without sounding like a lecture and questioning historical decisions through a contemporary lens. The characters arewell developed and not unidimensional and the art are enjoyable.
Overall: ( 8/10 )
I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes drama even if you don't understand anything about the Japanese Sengoku period.
