The Monster Life of the Freshly Drafted: The Comic · review

7.8/10 It’s been so long that I’ve read something half decent, so this review is probably going to be a bit biased, but at least it was good enough for my enjoyment to ignore its flaws. The plot is reminiscent of every monster main character; however, the major twist comes from the issue that the mc can’t speak the language of present-day humans, which effectively kills off every notable character dynamic or friendship that’s usually possible. However, this is rather a refreshing feeling since the story is just the mc going around and encountering new / old experiences, without all the filler and drama. There are someissues with the writing and worldbuilding, so the story does have some plot holes, but it do’esnt take away from the enjoyment too much.

I do have to comment on the mc, though. He’s a bit too horny, as the dialogue sometimes reads like a meme-translation due to how out-of-pocket some of his comments are during serious moments.

A bare-bone story about a monster adventuring and killing, and that’s sometimes all you need to have a story become enjoyable.
