Review of Parasyte: The Maxim
I've been putting off this anime for awhile... I remember all my friends enjoying it in High School, but no matter how many times I tried to start it I couldn't get past the first episode. So 2020 is the year I finally complete it I guess. The basics of this anime (story, art and music) are fantastic, especially for the year it came out in. I have a feeling when this anime first came out it was especially popular because of the animation style (slightly detailed, sketchy but best of all gloomy at the perfect moments). Because of the basics I think that makes theanime itself a classic and a must watch for anyone who's trying to stray away from the typical action/rom-com.
I put this anime off for so long because whenever something gets "hyped" I tend to not get on the bandwagon because I ether fully love it or get disappointed. After waiting so long to watch this I wouldn't say my mind is blown away by the story, but I do appreciate the ending and the message it's trying to get across to the viewer (The message in my eye's is "Everyone has a will to live, and has been given a chance on this earth... it depends on you, yourself and no one else to see how far you get").
The best episode of this series was number 18, "More than Human". You get to see the slight development of the "Parasite" species, and how they might be more human than they appear.
I don't think my review will be useful at all, but I hope there is someone else out there that might share the same thought as me.
