Review of Fire Force
I remember watching a bit of Soul Eater when I was younger, and as time went on as I watched this series, I looked up some pictures of Soul Eater, and while I never finished watching the anime, I could see just from the design of everything how things were working and a basic idea of the show formed in my head. That is the thing Atsushi Okubo does so well and made me bother to finish this through even after I fell far behind my anime club. There is the style and the music and all of the qualities of fire that go intoevery inch of the production of this anime, but something about how Okubo writes and designs a whole world makes me want to come back to this. I fell behind on this and Demon Slayer and I knew exactly which one I wanted to come back to once my winter break started.
The shonen tropes and kinds of characters are all here, but work together in a way that is pretty compelling. I lot is introduced and worked on over 24 episodes, and it definitely felt like the main cast of Company 8 could have more time spent on them. I remember Benimaru and Konro and everything about Company 7 more than the details of Maki, Tamaki, and Iris. Maybe Okubo should be better about looking around at his main characters before leaping into the main plot and this conspiracy, but so be it. A lot happens as the world builds and that may result in having to leave elements by the wayside, but what we have in this one season is a ride through this world of fire, for good and for bad, but it's fun.
