Review of Please Put Them On, Takamine-san
Before watching, you should take into account that this is an “ecchi” anime, not hentai, and that it is also a romantic comedy. What does that mean? It means that it is a style of anime in which you should never expect the protagonist to make a move on the girl. If you expect him to do the things you want him to do, you will be disappointed. This anime is that typical cliché where we have a protagonist with no attitude who gets involved in situations that many people would never experience, not even in 10 reincarnations. As for the story, I thought it waspretty good. I went to watch it thinking it would be pure fan service, but there's a little more to it than that. As the episodes progress, you feel that there is a progression in the main couple's relationship and that there are some cute and beautiful moments between the two, without resorting to Ecchi itself. However, I must make it clear that these moments are few and far between, but they do exist.
Regarding the characters' personalities, the anime spends most of its time focusing only on the two main characters. The girl is a tsundere (not one of those annoying, ironing board types that exist in other works, who scream and kick), who is a tough character and denies that she feels anything for the boy, but deep down we know that the opposite is true. Finally, we have the boy, who is also a cliché often seen in other works. As I said, he is that character with no attitude who keeps dodging delightful situations (lol), but surprisingly he has some small moments towards the end of the anime that make you stop and think, “Oh, that was cool,” but that's it.
In conclusion, I felt that the characters' backstories were underdeveloped. It showed some things, but very little. Maybe if there is a sequel in the future, they will develop this part more. Anyway, I recommend watching it if you don't have anything better to watch.
FINAL SCORE: 7 or 8.
