Review of My Happy Marriage

The fact that this anime has such a high rating and is so popular really surprises me. It's one of the most boring animes I've ever seen. The pacing is off, the characters have about one personality trait each, and the plot is basically nonexistent until the last few episodes (which is the only reason I managed to finish it at all). The main character undergoes approximately zero growth and continues being a crybaby doormat throughout the whole thing, which is understandable to some extent upon learning about her background but it happens SO OFTEN that eventually it just made me roll my eyes everytime she started crying. Obviously year-long trauma doesn't disappear overnight but it feels like nothing ever improved and the only chance the viewer gets to develop any kind of sympathy for her is through feeling sorry for her which just didn't work for me.

I really wanted to like it because I usually love the "arranged marriaged to genuine love" trope but this didn't meet my expectations at all; the pacing of the relationship between the characters goes from nothing to everything quite suddenly and after minimal interactions between them which felt a little off for the ML who is portrayed as very cold at first.

(Side note but something that bothered me unreasonably much was one of the characters shooting unlimited bullets from a revolver which visibly had 6 bullet chambers without reloading it a single time LOL)
