eh first half was incredibly fast paced and a bit unpleasant to sit through, and if i wasnt aware of the series at all, i wouldve dropped it. 2nd half was very good, but honestly watching this all made me wish that it was a tv series instead of a movie. The buildup to that final fight with Chaos would've been incredible. All in all, as a long time sailor moon fan, the journey of watching the Crystal reboot since 2014 has been a very bumpy ride. I guess i'm glad the manga finally got an adaptation, but I wish Toei could've treated it with more careand dignity than it actually got.
If you're a long time fan, i'd recommend watching, but if you're new to the sailor moon franchise you'll be incredibly lost and you'll probably have an easier time getting into it by just reading the manga (if you want all the dark goodness without a weirdly done animation adaptation) or diving into the 90s anime and getting a fun campy experience.
