After watching the first season of Vinland Saga I was pretty confident what the new season would bring to the table: epic viking fights and deaths upon deaths. Oh, how I was wrong about that, but in a good way. In a way I haven't seen it in any other anime or even series/movies. The second season of Vinland Saga showed that words can be a mighty weapon if they are wielded by someone who really knows their meaning and force behind it. The sentence "I have no enemies" describes this season as a whole and shows that you don't need epic anime fights allthe time. Sometimes dialogue can let you sit on the edge of your seat as well.

Characters
The characters really carry this season with unbelievable good and especially deep talks, something that you don't find every day in an anime. The voice actors doing an amazing job to really show the emotions behind the dialogs.

Animation
MAPPA did it again and delivered a beautiful animated world. Especially nature looks so untouched and shows very good why people sometimes just want to live a peaceful life far away from battles and war. Parts of the animation in Episode 01 "Slave" and Episode 09 "Oath" really stood out to me.

Music
The first opening of the new Season "River" by Anonymouz already gave an good indicator in which direction this season will go, if you compare it to the other openings from Season 1. The second opening "Paradox" was a classic Survive said the Prophet and just fits in the world of Vinland Saga. When it comes to the soundtrack Yutaka Yamada delivered again with excellent music. I mean how epic can you make a soundtrack with the name "Farming"? I guess you can.
