Review of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo

This just seems to be a bad Action movie that barely has anything to do with either the series or the previous movies. First the exaggerated use of voices from the off just giving orders or randomly saying things in the background got out of hand for the first half hour of the movie and on my nerves. It was okay how they did it in the series or previous movies, even if not the best story-telling device, but they REALLY went overboard and overdid it here. You finally get to tell something new after years of essentially remakes and quasi-remakes, and you just letpeople yell pointless vaguely technical sounding gibberish from the off to overly flashy and equally pointless CGI effects for the entire first third of the movie while the viewer, similar to the now-collared Shinji doesn't know wtf is even going on? To top it off, the 3D Animation is worse than the more classic style in the previous movies and the new character designs and characters are kinda shit. By the point the piano thing and Shinji's romance with Kaworu started I was over it and just wanted it to end. Shinji becoming whiny again and developing into a used washrag by the end, not to say growing dumber than he's been in all previous material and throwing away his character building in the previous movie just put the lid on it.
