One of the few Yoji Kuri films to utilize a soundtrack and story line, Two Pikes tells the story of a castaway couple who stumble on a small island and live happily until foreigners come live on it and build a society that is ultimately destroyed by war. It is believed by some that this was the sole inspiration for Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.
