Review of Paprika
i typically dont write reviews for any of the anime i watch, but this is a justified exemption to that rule. this is the best anime movie i have ever watched, and it will probably stay that way for eternity. director setoshi kon was, and still is a legend of animated film in my eyes. definitely a must-watch if you have already seen the movie inception directed by christopher nolan, since this was a predecessor to that. the film was originally inspired by the writings of yasutaka tsutsui, from a novel about his recollection of weird dreams he had throughout his life. the supporting soundtrack of the filmby susumu hirasawa is also a masterpiece in its own right. as if the amazing visuals originally hand-drawn up by setoshi kon in the original screen concept writings wasnt enough. the music to this film will make you want to listen just to the tracks by itself, over and over again as you lose yourself in its atmospherically pleasing sound.
