Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
This is my first review, so bear with me :) Story - 9/10 The story, while only being 11 episodes, has a fair amount to unpack. It's nothing outstanding, but it's sure to draw you in and leave you, well, feeling something. Art - 9/10Really well done art style. Good colors, looks pleasing, definitely adds to the experience.
Sound - 10/10
The main theme is easily one of the best parts of the show. It does a great job of giving some sense into the show, with just the first few seconds. The soundtrack throughout the more emotional parts of the show really capture what is meant to be felt.
Character - 10/10
Obviously, a show like this has got to have good characters. For the most part, the characters are very easy to like. A few leave you feeling unsure, but this is all done on purpose. You start to grow attached and truly understand why each character is going through what they are. The development of Menma's relationship with Jintan is unique in it's own way.
Enjoyment - 10/10
Going into this, I felt Angel Beats vibes. While I enjoyed that show, I wasn't expecting anything more. Boy was I wrong. This is easily one of my favorite shows of all time. The random spine chills I get just thinking about the ending soundtrack, the final moments of teary-eyed happiness. If anyone says they don't enjoy this show, or even feel a bit of sadness, they're either lying, or they're lying.
Overall - 10/10
