Review of High School of the Dead
Oh HotD, your go-to zombie boob show. This action-ecchi is an entertaining watch; however, stay away if you like your fanservice light. The story is one of the weakest parts. From just watching this season, there is little progression towards any goal in mind, and a wide open ending. 4/10 for irrational actions that were entertaining, but took away from the supernatural/horror aspect. This one requires a blank mind to avoid over-thinking any of the plot points. The animation was mediocre 90% of the time, but became very smooth for specific action sequences to emphasize the details. This provided a nice touch to the anime. 6/10
The sound was above average- fitting music for each scene and a killer opening song to set the atmosphere pumped me up for each episode. 6/10
The characters that were developed (only half or so of the main ones) were done so in a boring fashion with over-dramatized backstories that didn't feel remotely plausible. I didn't care much for anyone outside of the main cast, and they weren't anything special. 2/10
I guess the only real reason to watch this was for some laughs and boobs. It wasn't well put together and hard to watch. 3/10
HotD is below average with most aspects. Worth the watch if you like fanservice, but not if you like zombies. Also, you have to be able to turn off your brain for the story. 4/10
