Review of Neon Genesis Evangelion

There is a difference between something being influential and something being good, NGE while it may have been extremely influential, it's not very good, for example, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace was really influential for its time but that doesn't mean it's a good movie. The same can be said about NGE, I really don't see how this is considered the greatest anime of all time, if this is what is considered as the all-time great of anime, then I don't think I'll like any other anime shows. The characters are obnoxious, just because they're supposed to be depressed and relatable doesn't mean that thecharacters are good. The art, for the most part, was good, although it was inconsistent I liked it. Japan really likes to sexualize 14-year-old girls, so it was pretty uncomfortable seeing those parts of the show. I could go on and on about every problem I have with the show but I don't have the time to discuss it, overall I give this show a 3/10.
