Review of High School of the Dead
Ah, Highschool of the Dead, the perfect anime for those who love their zombies with a side of fan service. The story follows a group of high school students and a busty school nurse as they fight their way through a zombie apocalypse. It's like The Walking Dead, but with more gratuitous panty shots. The style of the anime is definitely over-the-top, with exaggerated action scenes and physics-defying maneuvers. But hey, it's all in good fun, right? The animation is slick and the character designs are memorable, although some may argue that the female characters are a bit too sexualized. Speaking of the characters, we have ourmain trio of Takashi, Rei, and Saeko. Takashi is your typical brooding protagonist, while Rei is the childhood friend who has a crush on him. Saeko, on the other hand, is the badass swordswoman who steals the show with her epic fight scenes.
The music in Highschool of the Dead is decent, with a catchy opening theme and some atmospheric background tracks. But let's be honest, you're not watching this anime for the music.
As for the enjoyment experience, Highschool of the Dead is a guilty pleasure. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it's entertaining in its own ridiculous way. You'll laugh, you'll cringe, and you'll probably roll your eyes at some of the more ridiculous moments.
And of course, we have to talk about the ending. Or lack thereof. Unfortunately, the anime ends on a cliffhanger, leaving fans hanging and wondering if we'll ever get a conclusion to the story. But hey, at least we got some closure with the OVA.
Overall, Highschool of the Dead is a fun ride if you're in the mood for some mindless zombie-slaying action and fan service. Just don't expect a satisfying conclusion.
