Review of Durarara!!
The first thing you think when you see the scores given to Durarara! is that this is a masterpiece, you then proceed to watch only to immediately be let down by how absolutely dull it seems to be. This is likely because of the fact that the way the show is portrayed is similar to Bacanno (which they give credit to through isaac and miria, along with Bacanno scenes being played in the background) , just not half as good or appropriate. The so called mysteries that drive the plot early on are things that we shrug at and it remains fairly boring untiljust before the mid point. From that point on Durarara! starts to shine, instead of trying to forcefully use the unique method of story telling Bacanno did, they did it normally and allowed the plot to develop in a way that was fairly enjoyable. I'm was sure to deduct a few points from it due to the beginning but by the end everything was so enjoyable that you just can't stand the thought of giving it a bad score.
Anyways the point is if you read from a wiki the basic information and skip to around episode 9, you can avoid the painful experience whilst still being able to enjoy the show like everyone else.
