Colorful doesn't really have a plot, or character development, or really much of anything aside from being so stuffed full of panty shots you'll think you accidentally wandered into a young woman's underwear drawer. But really, it doesn't need to have any of that. Colorful is an un-ironic, unashamed parody series that takes a look at Japan's apparent fascination with the upskirt. It's funny, but also perverted and weird, however, some people (myself included) like it for that. Just don't expect deep characterization or an overarching plotline, because the most it has is guys obsessing over the elusive panty shot, theoblivious women who fall victim to their schemes, and a bunch of running jokes.

Colorful is one of those niche anime with a large gap dividing those who've witnessed its weirdness. You either like it or you hate it. Careful with this one, your mileage may vary, especially if you're not a fan of the panty shot trope that seems to run rampant throughout most anime.
