Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day

5 years and they still have not moved on? Not even a little bit? I'm pretty mixed about this show. One minute I love it the next I'm rolling my eyes. This review will be short and to the point. STORY (4/10) Well, it's a slice of life so it really has no story. Not much happens plot-wise. It's all character and event driven. There were a lot of plot holes and characters held the idiot ball a lot (why didn't Menma just move something to prove was there the entire time until around the end of the series.) ART (8/10) The arts great, everything is nice and crispand detailed. The animators did a great job of capturing the summer. There are literally no problems here.

SOUND (7/10)
The theme song is great and the ending song is good. The background music i forgettable.

CHARACTERS (4/10)
The characters in Anohana were...how should I put this....annoying. Menma's been dead for 5 years and I know its hard to let go, but none of these characters have even passed the 5 stages of grief yet, seriously? I go by it one by one

Jinta: He's one of those protagonist that is looked up and easily respected by everyone despite doing nothing. He's suppose to be an otaku nerd by two girls are in love with him and people easily see him as a competent leader.

Anaru (redhead): She has the most memorable design and is the most attractive female on the show. Her character was very insecure and interesting but the writers wasted it on her stupid crush on Jintan.

Menma (dead chick): Ugh, I think she's okay as a character but why does every guy on the show have a crush on her. She the least attractive female on the show.

Tsuruko (glasses girl): She was generic

Yukiatsu (Vegeta#2): A dick who is so much better than the protagonist in every way but is still seen as lesser.

Poppo: the best and funniest character on the show. Also the most attractive male character on the show.

Jinta's father: He was so funny but he was a terrible father. Who lets there son do whatever they want? I know he wanted Jinta to grieve but five years!!!!

Menma's mom: What a bitch!

ENJOYMENT (6/10)
It was an incredibly sad slice life so, yeah. It was enjoyable enough but not for me to ever watch again.

OVERALL (6/10) Anohana is an incredibly depressing show with lackluster sexy teens and good animation. Its only 12 episodes so I recommend you give it a watch
