Review of Sword Art Online

SPOILERS AHEAD! Story (3): Good concept but poorly executed. Overall the main story in the first arch is really interesting but it has about 1 or 2 episodes and drifts off to side plots until about episode 10. Then in the second arch it kind of does the same thing. Art (7): It is very pretty and well animated but so is a lot of A-1 pictures. A lot of the characters have same face syndrome from a lot of other work by A-1 pictures. The scenery is cool but it isn't special Sound (9): The theme songs and instruments I always liked, I would give it a10 but it's not like the music encapsulated my heart when I hear it like Air's "Aozora" or Clannad's "Dango Song"

Character (2): Kirito is extremely bland and overpowered. The only redeeming character is Asuna and only in the first arch, her character gets ruined in arch 2. There's so many side love interests for no reason including Kirito's fucking sister! I wish they explored more Klein since he was so cute. I did like Kirito's and Asuna's marriage/relationship it was cute but it got cringey with the introduction of Yui, you could keep her as long as she wasn't a "deus ex machina" or whatever"

Enjoyment (5): Let me explain myself. When I first watched this show I didn't realize how bad it was. I was engrossed with Kirito and Asuna's relationship and I cried for about 20 minutes after Asuna died in the first act to find out she wasn't dead then I was happy and in the second arch I was so excited for Kirito to save her and the power of love and everything cheesy like that. If I didn't realize how bad this show was, I would give my enjoyment score a 10, but not when I think about the show I realize how shit it is, so I averaged my love and hate to a 5.

Overall (5.2): I would honestly rate this lower, but the sound and art is pretty good. If you want a good review that explores how shit this show is outside of sound and art watch Digibro's 1 hour rant on it, it's pretty interesting
