Review of A Certain Magical Index

from a personal point of view, i think this anime is a bit overrated. story - 7/10: the plot is consist of different short stories even though the it is not all separated like the monogatari series. every now and then, the main character can change one episode or two depends on the length of the story. also the ending of the anime isn't some really awesome fight scene where the MC go crazy and unlock some overpowered skills and defeat the demon lord, but instead it only looks like another normal episode ended with a longer credit scene. however, each story themselves are totallyfine, the problem was created by some mysterious force and the MC went and save the day. almost all the short stories are created with this plot line, and the director tried too hard trying to make the MC look cool but he still is just some street brat whos only power is punching people.

art - 8/10: the art is a pretty good part of the anime, no one is overly exaggerated(maybe just the teacher) with some immense beauty or really unrealistic features. the art was clean through the entire anime, which was quite enjoyable to watch.

character - 6/10: well, i just think that the characters are just a little too cliche. the main guy is just like 'i'm gonna save everyone i see!!' and the main female is like 'MC is my dada' or something like that. the typical types of characters that have been created thousands of times, over-justice, life filled with female, and whats even better, they are all attracted to him in some degree.

overall, this is an alright anime. probably its just not my taste, with the halfhearted action and halfhearted slice of life. but i know some people who might enjoy this, so if you like anime such as Tokyo raven or anything similar, this might be the one you are looking for.
