Review of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
After some reflection from my previous shitty review, I'll try my best not to be off-topic or biased. Here it goes... I rarely watch movies for some reason because I tend to feel tired after like... 30 minutes or more... and when I decide to watch this, goddamn, 2 hours plus? But hey, I've watched the Suzumiya series and its a pretty decent anime you know? Story:- I actually liked the way of execution of the story... It feels like... reality, I think? since it progresses not too slow or fast... its like, I'm able to engaged myself to the movie despite being 2 hours+ without anysingle break. (I actually thought of pausing in the middle of the movie, but damn the storyline just kept grabbing me. LOL). It becomes interesting when Kyon slowly figures out the puzzle pieces... Hmmm
Art:-
Excellent job, love those character designs, and especially the way they blend the character drawings and animation into reality places probably somewhere in Japan (I think?) Character reactions also feels genuine and not too awkward or cliché. Worth downloaded in 1080p.
Sound:-
I didn't really paid attention to the sounds or music... but as far as I know, nothing really bothered me since I was too focused on the storyline... I think in some scenes (classroom maybe), I really like the typical background noise effect while in total silence since it feels realistic.
Character:-
Loved the characters, especially how Kyon handles the situation in a way that's acceptable. I actually felt a bit of 'awww' when I saw another side of Yuki Nagato. But damn, around the towards the end of the movie... especially how Yuki Nagato reacts... I'm like, 'mha heart... mah soul...' (insert meme here).
Enjoyment:-
The fact that this is a 2 hours+ movie and it manages to grab my attention without any single break shows that I enjoyed watching although I felt really tired after that. (went to sleep after watching, lol). Yep, no regrets.
Overall:-
Decent movie, worth downloaded in HD, I suggest watching this movie without any distractions for better feel. If you like the recent Suzumiya series, then you'd probably love this movie.
