Review of Monster
So yea,my review contains major light spoilers from monster. The storyline is about a young surgeon who saves a small kid from his deathbed, who inevitably after 9 years become a serial killer.feared as the monster. Pretty simple right? SURPRISE!!! youre in for a treat.yea even better treat than grandmas hot chocolate cake. the story doesnt only revolve around the main protaginist Dr tenma but many other deeply written side characters such as lunge and eva heinemen, getting the most statically fluent and beautiful character development ive seen in all of anime, ive seen tons of anime, ive seen tons of manga, ive even seen the mostly well acclaimed and hyped series,(eg aot) but idk how,and whythe well directed plot twist with deep sense of shock is really cut off from the new gen animes.Naoki is a Devilish monster on his own to write such complex storylines and making you absolutely feel the love towards the series, the well written plot twists and everything the series offers with one of the most intriguing openings and endings in anime.
its like a perfect area to bam up an ost out of the series when the ost starts, the music may not be that of interesting, but its pretty static and unique, theres an eerie type of feeling you get listening it
so here are the reasons it was ll 10 out of 10
1)STORY
the storyline is somewhat different from a normal police crime solving anime, its definitely a much more complex anime, monster starts as an actual cliche doing the cliche actually right unlike some very bad starts.the anime starts taking flight with every episode it progress up from.
Monster as Naoki intended is indeed a slow burner, and yea its like differently hitting.the very less percent of cliches are done perfect in monster, but the story gets out of the box every ep intruiginly making you think tf would johan do and the hell can happen in the next second
2)CHARACTERS
Followed by one of the most intensely written cast in an anime,
the story consists of well layered and human characters, theres a certain character who would be my favourite supporting character.yea hes wolfgang grimmer,he had a very certain deal of an impact on me in just 14 episodes he was there.i liked how in monster, there was not any sense of main course of a character, all were so interesting deeply engraved in their own lives thinking how wrong and right they are trying to live along in their own interestingly craved world and perspectives,
3)HUMAN NATURE
monster has a sense of deep human nature in the anime.its actually horrifying and sadly deppressing cause of such reasons at times, its gravely shown many a times how deeply hurt people get and how lifelike it looks,
the characters developing from every sense of circusmtances they go through is worthwhile for one of the greatest final 7 eps of arc in the anime.its very realistic of how it is actually potrayed in the storyline
4)ART
many people dont like it but its actually great seeing such different like artspecially seeing how different and changed the artstyles are now,it really feels nice and a cold breeze in the hot day how the old animes did experiment with artstyles, the art really helps in conveying the emotions and horror.and its pretty good anyhow, its not bad
5)Overall
Dont listen to anyone who says its overhyped or shit or bad,its fire on its own, definitely its a slowburner.but its one of those sole pyschological thrillers which actually lives up to its beautiful name, wih one of the greatest endings in all of anime, monster hold the number 1 spot in my heart as an anime and as a show, one of the most near perfect and lifelike stories, monster is a must watch, definitely a must watch.one of the best fictions ever made.in a realistically embedded world, monster.
