Neon Genesis Evangelion is a show about the human experience. Evangelion is a raw glimpse into the mind of its anime-auteur director, Hideaki Anno. It's a work defined not by what it is, but by what it conveys. Evangelion is masterfully directed, storyboarded, performed, and perfectly flawed. In many ways, it is the quintessential anime.
