Review of Gintama
Gintama is one of the best shows I've ever watched, but it's not for everyone. I've tried recommending it to a couple of my friends, but I feel like they won't enjoy it as much as I did. The closest show I can think of that sort of resembles the same feeling is Saiki Kusuo: stupid, hilarious humor and a deep understanding of human nature. Gintoki is one of the best main characters that I have encountered. Despite everything, he had to live. And as hollow as he appears, he is not. Because Gintama shows you that it's the people that surround you, that makeup what you are. Caring for others is in return caring for yourself. And as long as you care, you will never be alone.
Anyway, I can't believe that a show that recurrently makes poop and fart jokes (which I usually hate) made me laugh so much and could have some of the best written characters I've ever encountered.
The female cast of this show is unmatched in any other shounen I've ever seen/read. Not one of the girls in this show is not a heroine and has a great developed personality, backstory, and goals to accomplish.
Also, I cannot review this and not talk about Gintoki and Hijikata what the fuck was that about? And also loved, LOVED that they kept referencing to how people ship them... bof... really this is truly cinema...
Actually, I finished the whole show on August 22nd. It took me about 8 months to binge the whole thing, with like a hiatus of 2 months in the middle of it.
