First of all, this is my first review, so I figured I'd do it on my favorite anime. Bear with me. Also, I'll never rate anything a 10. I don't believe it exists. The Fate series is based on the general premise of the "Holy Grail Wars," an event in which seven Magi are chosen at random by the Holy Grail, a supernatural ancient artifact, to fight to the death for a chance to have their wish granted. These Magi are accompanied by a Servant; an ancient warrior of history, mythological or real, to fight alongside them in this endeavor. These Servants come from seven classes, each with their own strong points, and a "Noble Phantasm;" a trump card to use for an edge. These classes are Archer, Saber, Rider, Lancer, Beserker, Caster, and Assassin.

The background was necessary for this review. In "Fate/Zero," the main Protagonist is the renowned Mage Slayer, Kiritsugu Emiya (Or Emiya Kiritsugu in Japanese) and his Servant, "Saber."

The plot is explosive. Although the first episode is slow (It's a 45 minute background), it immediately picks up pace and doesn't leave a dull moment. If you're into high-caliber action, Fate is primarily built on the premise of it. The soundtrack is fast paced, and the action scenes fit the bill perfectly. Each character is given somewhat of a background, some done more well than others, but loose ends are rare.

Watching it through the first time, I personally fell in love with the characters. Some are designed to carry a weight of humor, some you love to hate, and some you just hate. For the sake of spoilers, I won't go too into detail, but you are going to feel emotion while watching this. There are certainly points to feel angry at the world, some to cry about, some to laugh, and some to lose sleep over.

For someone new to the Fate series, this is certainly the one to start with. Starting with Fate/Stay Night will reveal spoilers from /Zero, as Zero is the first out of the two currently in anime form. If nothing thus far has been a selling point, consider the following as a concluding point of interest:

I never had an interest in manga before the Fate series. Fate opened the way to Manga, Visual Novels, everything beyond a 13 episode series. If you enjoy such a thing, give this series a try.

Thanks for your time, hope I was of some help
