Review of School Days

Ok God, School Days.I usually find it to time consuming to write reviews...but i feel this anime NEEDS one. I've seen so many different views of this show. Some people LOVE it and some HATE it. Mine opinion is both. First let me talk about the characters. I hated them all...nothing about them i found likable. They never really showed any change throughout the whole story. Other than drifting in and out of sanity. NONE of them had any morals or respect for each other. Makoto, wow. He did go through some change, but NOT a good one. I thought he was always a dick. Hewas completely oblivious of Kotonoha's feelings and wants, and by the end of the show he was a selfish sex craved maniac. And all the girls in the show were just as selfish and had major jealousy problems.

In the story Sekai sets Makoto up with Kotonoha, which is shy and doesn't want to move the relationship as fast as Makoto wants he eventually breaks up with her. Sekai decides she likes Makoto and gives him what he wants. This turns Makoto into a sex dived animal. He literally has sex with every girl who has a talking line in the school. There is SO much lying and cheating in the show! Towards the end, Sekai claims she is carrying Makoto's child. All the other girls stop having sex with him and Makoto flips out. He finds Kotonoha, who by now has gone complete ape-shit, and decides to get back with her. Sekai then goes ape-shit and kills Makoto and ends up being killed by Kotonoha.
Now I may have hated the characters and thought the show just was throuwing too many problems at itself, but i found it rather satisfying. I don't know if it meant to, but it taught a good lesson. Don't obsess over people. It only leads to hurt. Also it teaches about selfishness and respect for others as well as how much of selfless pig lying and cheating can make you. School Days has changed me. I don't know if i'd recommend it to anyone. i finished it in a day and it has been a pretty bad day. But if i feel someone needs to learn the things i did, i'd say hey...just watch School Days.
