Review of Durarara!!
Durarara showed me how myths and legends could still exist in modern cities. The story's good and mysterious. Many things are only revealed later which makes a seemingly normal schoollife into a modern version of an old tale. This was perfectly summarized by the words of one of the characters near the end of the series: "There's no such thing as a normal person." De converstations are pretty deep and sometimes I get the feeling there's even more meaning you can't see the first time you watch. Chatroom sessions can be important to understand the story better. The problem is they're not always voiced and you have toread them real quick.
The animation is ordinary. Some things were really well done but not enough to make it stand out.
This anime started quite slow and it kind of changes main characters in the middle which causes it to build up suspense again but especially near the end, I couldn't stop watching.
By the way, the creators of this anime and Baccano really know how to make intros!
