Review of Black Butler
Kuroshitsuji *No Spoilers* Summary: Ciel phantomhive, a young boy who has lost his mother and father in a terrible fire. Later Ciel summons the demon Sebastian Michaelis to be his butler, help him with his missions, and protect him. This gripping anime is about Ciel and Sebastian solving mysteries and going through the life of a young English aristocrat. Pros: * first of all, the artwork is amazing and sort of reminiscent of Tim Burton's creepy drawing style. It's dark and beautiful all at once.* Well Developed characters. you quickly fall in love with and care for each character very quickly.
* the action scenes are entertaining and not too much to watch.
*The mysteries are compelling and leaves you needing to know what happens next.
*The world is well-developed, beautifully drawn, and easy to understand how this world works.
*the Japanese dub is beautiful. (Sebastian's voice tho) the English dub isn't too bad. however, the acting isn't as good with English. but both voices were equally pretty similar to each other.
* The accuracy to the way Englishmen dress and act are pretty well executed in this anime.
*Love the theme song for both series'
* I love the dark humor in this show. I laughed way too hard with some of the jokes.
Cons:
* Violence and gore are everywhere in this anime. So, if you can't handle blood, guts, or implied rape. This anime wouldn't be for you. The blood is more prevalent than the sexual violence.
* if you are religious, you may feel uncomfortable with things Sebastian does. I'm religious and the things that happen somethings were very uncomfortable to watch. there are angels and demons in this anime but their role is opposite, demons are good and angels are evil. There are lots of demonic imagery, such as pentagrams.
* Does get slow in some places.
