Review of High School of the Dead

Higschool of the dead is a pretty good enjoyable ecchi, horror action anime, for what it is it was pretty good in its own right, decent enough characters and you get what you came for out of it. It may be a mess, and the author passing away is a factor for why there isn't anymore of the anime being made. It's an enjoyable mess, that delivers on what you would expect for a zombie anime with an ecchi twist, it does have a couple of problems that stand out here and there, but for what it is I enjoyed it. It tells the storyof a group of higschool students that find themselves inhabitated in a world where a zombie apocalypse has broken out, they must fend for themselves in their school, while having plans to escape and find their loved ones.

PROS:
-Characters are likable enough
-Story is rather simple
-Raw gore, raw violence
-Has a sideplot which shows the state of the people around the world, which I found pretty cool.
-Funny and enjoyable
-For the first few episodes kinda builds a little bit of tension, a little bit of drama mixed with a little bit of ecchi, but not noticable to the degree we have in episode 6 and above, it also had the characters make some realistic decisions and a little bit of mental warfare here and there

CONS:
-Characters are not well developed enough
-They sometime make some really stupid decisions
- Rather way too straightforward at times
-The ecchi part really stands out in episodes 6 above, didn't mind it that much before that, but then the anime just starts focusing on that way too much imo
-Doesn't really have anything that stands out
-Generic AF cause of zombie outbreak, where its just another exposure to nuclear warheads
-Could have been a lot better if author focused on character development,more interesting sideplots and decided to stick to the premise, rather than just being a generic ecchi anime with a zombie apocalypse.
-Kinda loss at certain times, fails at being harem, and it succeds in terms of fanservice and gory and that's about it.
-Anytime something interesting about a character does happen, its straight up is redconned by how silly the whole situation ends up being executed and presented.

Overall Highschool of the dead is decent enough I guess, I woudn't really recommend it to other people tho, since its actually a mess, a mess that I really enjoyed, but aye if you want some titties, random panty shots and higschoolers shooting zombies, then this might be the show for you. I give HOTD a 6/10, decent enough anime.
