Review of Fire Force

No Spoiler Review The entertainment industry has been stifled by creative bankruptcy and anime is no different. Enen no Shouboutai otherwise known as Fire Force in English is bland, generic, devoid of ideas and naive in its storytelling and direction. Story: 1 It has an interesting premise about fire fighters who battle infernals which are a by-product of human combustion. It sounds very interesting and the synopsis would capture any viewer's attention but sadly all its potential is wasted within the first couple of episodes. The anime offers nothing new that hasn't been done before and stumbles at one of the simplest story telling techniques that is"Show don't tell". It suffers from blatant exposition time after time to move its generic plot forward.

Art: 8

The animation is good and well crafted. The character designs and overall art is good. The flames which are the main part of the show are unique to most of the characters who use them which was a good touch.

Sound: 6

The score is decent. The voice acting is good for most characters and tolerable for the main antagonists of the story.

Character: 1

The characters are the worst part of the show. The girls are only used for fanservice. This is where the director shines and showcases his abilities to. He manages to capture boobs and ass shots in a frame better that any ecchi anime you can name. Its borderline glorious at times. Most of the characters are shallow and pop up for exposition from time to time. The main protagonist and antagonist are the love children between Ao no Exorcist and Owari no Seraph. Neither has any unique personalities. The only character who has a backstory that isn't lackluster and motivations is the Captain of the 8th. The antagonists want to destroy the world because....... I highly doubt they know themselves.

Enjoyment: 1

The anime is boring and a steaming heap of garbage. The comedy is repetitive and gets annoying quick. The fanservice is borderline cringy as thats the only thing the girls are used for.

Conclusion

The anime has no redeeming qualities and is a waste of time. I would recommend watching Blue Exorcist instead, its decent, funny and did it the same story better.
