Review of Devilman: Crybaby
Going into this show my expectations were low specially because of the front reviews that are currently on MyAnimeList, but this show did not disappoint. This is the show about a man Akira Fudo and his experience with "demons" Story - 9/10 The general concept of a character gaining powers and changing looks appears in basically every single basic shounen you'll find examples of this would be dragon ball, naruto etc. But this "demon" makes it seem like it's more something from the "human realm" (ironic, I know), but the powers do seem of a more realistic scale than your typical shounen. Also, this was one ofthose types of show that bored me in the first episode but from the second episode onwards I was absolutely hooked.
Art- 9/10
Initially what annoyed me about the overall design of these characters is the fact that there isn't as much shading when you compare to other anime, but as time progressed I started to enjoy and get more used to this kind of art, and when you do get used to it, it is actually really good.
Sound - 9/10
Now for this section I can't really comment much but only because I didn't pay much attention to the OST's, in this section I am rating only the opening.
Character - 10/10
Specially towards the end (I won't spoil) Akira Fudo has to deal with how to learn to control his newly acquired powers and the consequences that come with having them
Enjoyment - 10/10
Again as I mentioned previously I was hooked the entire time from episode 2 until the end so if that's not enough for a ten I don't know what is.
Overall - 10/10
A really enjoyable watch and I would definitely recommend it to anyone (Mind you not absolutely everyone because of nudity)
