Review of The King's Avatar
To be straight and to the point, the story is pretty bland. It's about a pro player that play the game because he loves it, but it really seems like he does it to show how superior he is to everybody else in it (aka "flexing"). There isn't much more to the story than that: although there is some dabbling around in the real world, it doesn't show much or develop any of the characters. I admit, the fight scenes are cool, but they get repetitive fast. And to be clear, they aren't actually duelling it out like it makes it appear, asif in SAO, (skill??) but rather an enhanced version of a computer game that seems to 80% rely on how fast you can click buttons. They make a point of this.
Overall enjoyment was not bad, if not just for the fight scenes. So if that's what you're here for, along with "OP male character in video game world" (SAO but even less plot??) this is a treat for you.
