Black Clover is an enigma, it get's dunked on so much but also fans of the series praise it the reason I find this incredibly strange is that it hasn't even got any controversial elements. I can't give this anime anything more than a 7. The reason for this is honestly mainly due to the drawbacks of it being a continually airing series, the animation isn't terrible for the most part, the problem being that the animation quality is inconsistent. The other drawback being the pacing of the show, I feel that the pacing is just too slow for the most part. I feel that battle'sespecially take longer than they really should. I know that the reason for this is so they don't catch up to the manga too quickly.

I give the story a 7 out of 10, it's good but it's also nothing mind blowing, however I do think the last couple arcs are much better than the prior arcs.

The art and sound design is also a 7 out of 10, it's good but again I don't think it's great.

The strong point of this series is it's characters definitely, while I find Asta annoying at points and I find Yuno incredibly boring the other characters are what make the series worth the watch for me. The Black Bulls is a great cast of characters -except Luck - to watch while the characters from the other houses are great, especially Charlotte, Mimosa and her siblings. I love the dynamic between Yami and Charlotte especially. These characters are so enjoyable there were point's that I wanted breaks in the action to focus on them doing fun things.

Overall, a 7 out of 10. I feel if it was released seasonal the series could have been an 8 out of 10 due to the drawbacks I said earlier if done well.
