Review of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online

After being a huge fan of SAO for years I can't believe I've only picked up this anime now! I love these some how innocent yet epic battles to the death that SAO portrays. Let's get down to the anime basics! The Story was very sweet and may I say "SAO Cliché"... meaning this is the kind of story I expected from an alternate world of SAO, but I would never hate on it!!! Main character has a problem they must overcome, they fight some people, realize something big and become cool AF! Art; nothing much to say here except I LOVE IT and if youdidn't enjoy the style from the very beginning then why did you even pick it up? Sound; the OST was catchy, the guns and grenades left an impact every time they landed and the "sweet sounds" were also up my alley (embarrassing moments, blushing, when they laughed their heads off, etc.). The characters is what made this whole anime worth while. In SAO there are a lot of strong female leads, and although the story sometimes focuses on them and their problems (Asuna, Yuuki, Sion, Sugu) it was never FULLY about them. That's why I liked seeing this alternate world (especially of GGO because SAO S2 was my favourite) where the main character dealing with her problems head on.

Overall I throughly enjoyed this anime. I went into this anime having a feeing I would enjoy it since it's from the same world as SAO, but after watching it I realized it's not the same at all. Different group of people, problems to face and overcome and hilariously unrealistic situations you would never find yourself in.

If you are a Sword Art Online fan I hope you pick this anime up and give it a chance. If you enjoyed this anime and have never seen SAO then PLEASE... I beg you... watch SAO as soon as you can. (^0^)
