Review of Beyond the Boundary: I'll Be Here - Future

The main villain’s motivations are not developed at all. The result is that the role feels more like a plot device/convenience for the more meaningful conflicts between Akihito and Kuriyama as well as Izumi and Hiroomi. The movie continues where the series left off and brings the clarity to key plot points that were hinted to but not resolved in the 12 episode run. The key one being the ties between the cursed blood clan and Beyond the Boundary. In this sense the movie is essential viewing for any fans of the show and wraps the story up in a way that isn’t too predictable.The themes aren’t anything new but the execution of them makes it worth viewing. The greatest drawback for me is the villain that is little else than a plot device.
