The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Overview Merits: - Good Sense of Humour. - Very Likeable/Relatable Protagonist. - Use of Psychic Powers as a main theme. - Very likeable minor characters each with a specific personality. Cons: - Each episode is split up into 4 parts which can slow the pace slightly; also I am not a fan of it.-Even through each character has a specific personality they feel somewhat shallow sometimes but not always.
-School theme is very common; I don’t mind it but prefer something unique.

IS THAT A GIANT HAMBURGER POTATO HYBRID WITH QUANTUM LASER TORPEDOS!? No? Oh…want to get some McQuackers; I’m kind of hungry now.

Random comedy is my favourite comedy, this is always apparent with anime too. Because anime (this can also relate to Western Cartoons too) have no boundaries in which the comedy can flow they can pretty much do whatever they want. On the over hand everyone has a different style of comedy and find certain things funny that others do not, even though because of this we have a diverse range of comedy to pick from. Saiki Kusou no Psi-Nan has top notch comedy in my book but is that because of my personal preference; for example I like Saiki’s personality and the fact that he finds pretty much all normal things pointless and boring because his psychic powers allow him to pretty much anything.

The greatest comedy comes from the fact that Saiki which simply wants a quiet and peaceful life ends up accidently making somewhat reasonable decisions, which for some reason turns out disastrous. For example he makes friends with people even though he doesn’t want any but this can be down to there singular personalities.

Riki Nendo – Saiki can’t read his mind and thus makes it difficult to predict what he’s going to do, reading minds is one of Saiki’s powers. Although due to Nendo being a complete idiot, it makes it impossible for Saiki to read his mind. Nendo ends up becoming friends with Saiki regardless of Saiki’s choice in the matter.

Shun Kaido – Suffers from 8th Grader Syndrome as Saiki calls it, thinks he’s the protagonist for some fantasy anime and thinks that Dark Reunion will be the end of us. He can be quite funny at times considering even though he thinks he’s some powerful fighter in reality he’s really weak.

Kokomi Teruhashi – The prettiest girl in school, or how this anime portrays her to be the prettiest girl in the world. She’s extremely self aware about this and thinks that all boys should worship her and acknowledge her beauty. Saiki on the other hand see’s everyone as flesh and bones, once Teruhashi realises this she goes out of her way to get Saiki to achnowledge her.
Kineshi Hairo – The class-rep and is all about spirit and willpower to do and overcome everything. Not much else to say about him sweats a lot and shows his ass quite often. Don’t really find him funny.

I won’t go over any other characters as it’s unnecessary.

I’m not much of a reviewer; I don’t think I spoiled anything for you. Saiki is just straight up funny, but considering my favorite comedy anime is Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo my comedy is quite obscure. I found this series to be funny and you might as well.

Please keep in mind again that my comedy is obscure, I find Bobobo funny but Gintama not funny. This is mainly due to Gintama having hit or miss comedy for me and the pacing being thrown off when it gets serious, like how can you try to do both? Just completely takes me out of it and I lose interest. I have tried to get into Gintama (just look at all the seasons I’ve watched) but just find the comedy unbalanced and when it gets serious boring. Sorry to go off on Gintama just wanted you to get a complete understanding of my comedy.

Saiki I give a 7/10
