Review of Parasyte: The Maxim
Parasyte was an anime I was on the fence about watching. It just seemed too grim and depressing, and to be frank, I wasn't too sure I would even enjoy it. I was glad I took the leap, and less than a day later, I arrived at the satisfying conclusion. This anime was outstanding. The characters are complex and interesting, and you can never be sure on their motives, nor even if they are on the "good side." The reason I put good side in quotations is because this anime tends to take a morally gray side for most of its conflicts. Sure, its easyto say that the parasites are evil because they eat humans, but is it that idea alone or is it just that humanity wasn't ready to be dethroned as the apex predator of Earth. This anime toys with that idea constantly and its a joy to have seen it unfold. This is a very easy watch, as it can be completed in half a day with no breaks. This is definitely one I recommend to any anime fan who likes intense drama with a dash of horror.
