Review of La storia della Arcana Famiglia
The series had a promising premise, with the concept of hosting an Arcana Duello in order to marry the famiglia Papa's daughter, Felicita. I am glad that the series did not focus on romance, as is the motif in typical reverse harems. Instead, there was ample character development in the males; people get a sense of their struggles with controlling/awakening their powers. However, Felicita, our heroine, seemed like a background character in what is supposed to be her story. She was decent at fighting, but I kept waiting for her to emote in some powerful and meaningful way, but I was left unsatisfied. I ama bit disappointed at the predictable, rushed, and "safe" ending. The series could have devoted time to exploring friendships and actual fighting scenes in order to allow viewers to appreciate the ending more.
To end the review on a more positive note, the art in the show is amazing - that's what kept me watching the show. For example, the dreams/nightmares the characters have are so vivid.
