Review of Baki the Grappler

- Overall reviews - 5/10 | Baki the Grappler 6/10 | Baki the Grappler: Saidai Tournament-hen 8/10 | Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament Saga 7/10 | Baki: Death Row Convicts 10/10 | Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre I have watched every Baki arc and will update this list as I go since I do not like rating seasons individually. - Summarized review - Baki the Grappler had a strong arc, setting up his relationship and lore with his father, training to keep up with the ogre, it only felt like it wasn't at a point where the show knew what it wanted to be yet, not until the second tournament arc, where weget a true feel of the series and what it wanted to show and man was it a good ride, I didn't enjoy the death row convict arc as much as I did "Son of Ogre" but it was enjoyable, the fights were wacky, the characters even more so and the plot didn't take itself as serious, it felt like a shonen with minimal talking and a lot of bashing and ridiculous explanations of what was happening to their bodies, Son of Ogre sealed the deal, the introduction of Pickle, the final fight with Baki and his dad, it held up to the hype and for anyone that says other-wise, take a chill pill, get some popcorn and turn your brain off for a bit, don't take it to serious, because not even the show is doing it, just enjoy all it's goofiness and over the top fights.
