Review of Monster

My reasons for the low rating. 1. This whole is Tenma guilty thing felt really pointless, jarring & kind of annoying to watch. We know he's not guilty so why do this whole circus? I really liked Lunge but he was so lost for like 75% of the show or so trying to catch Tenma. 2. Plotholes. How did Johan get poisoned candy when he was just shot as a kid? Also Johans "abilities" were never explained. The scene where he gives the police guy the alcohol is cool & all but I feel like we need an explanation how he's able to look into people'ssouls or whatever. When Johans disciple Christof Sievernich talked to Martin Reest, Christof also seemed to look inside Martins soul & pick him apart, almost as if Johan is teaching it to him. So I thought they were about to explain the ability but they just never did. Johan also seems to be able to look into the future, when he said an Asian man is going to kill him. Feel like an explanation is necessary.
I think Annas/Ninas constant panic attacks were a plothole too? Why is she even having panic attacks? Is it because she saw 40 people die in that rose mansion? But she saw way more people die during the show especially towards the end & she didn't get those annoying panic attacks from that either. Anna is so badass in the beginning but got so annoying later because of those panic attacks.

3. I didn't like the last arc, nor the ending. The show was constantly teasing the ending like something crazy is about to happen. Like Johan has a crazy plan to kill everyone, they even said at some point he wants to be the last person on the planet. "The monster in me is about to explode" & so on, or when Johan cut off the cassette tape because the audio was so top secret apparently, all this build up was so dramatic. It honestly feels like the author had a different, better last arc in mind but had to scratch that for some reason. Solving the mystery about 511 Kinderheim & Johans past was the main reason I kept watching this boring show but in the end it wasn't that interesting or worth it.
The ending was inexcusably bad in my opinion, I honestly hope Johan kills another 1000 people just for Tenmas decision.

4. Lastly, it was just plain boring most of the time. Watching a show is kind of like listening to music. Either you feel it or you don't & I felt so drained after the 74 episodes.
