This is one of those series that has so much potential it genuinely becomes upsetting that it was cancelled. The idea has been done to death, reincarnated prince wants to improve his nation, but it's how he goes about it in this one that matters most. He breaks a major taboo to learn a forgotten art, and with that skillset manages to slowly but surely improve things and gather allies. And it's the relatively slow and methodical pace that is this stories strength. While it does have some timeskips to accommodate showing actual improvements to the nation, they're not overused to death and each one has areason behind it. (though I really would have liked to have seen the two years he took to learn alchemy) Each improvement feels earned and worked for, each ally took time and skil to persuade, each new goal set feels like a natural extension of the previous one and a new step towards their ultimate goal.

Each character has both good points and bad, with goals and ideals of their own making them a complete person, and despite them being a bit stereotypical at times they and their dialogue is superbly written. It is one of those manga where a multi page long chapter of only characters talking does not feel boring but fascinating and interesting.

I was genuinely upset when I got to the end of this, it had such promise and showed such enthusiasm to see it's idea through to the end. I have no idea why it got axed, maybe it didn't make sales or something, but I do hope the writer keeps working on new things because they have a lot of talent and I'd hate for one flop to make them stop trying.
